Hello! The results of the “Birdmate Cup★633 Bird Species Grand Election,” hosted by the Wild Bird Society of Japan, have finally been announced. The voting period ran from August 1st to 20th, and an impressive total of 3,582 votes were cast! With all 633 bird species found in Japan as contenders, everyone was eager to see which birds would make it to the top.

  2. Swallow – 150 votes
  3. Daurian Redstart – 144 votes

To everyone’s delight, the sparrow claimed the top spot! This small, adorable bird clearly captured the hearts of many. The swallow came in second, followed by the Daurian Redstart in third. These are all birds that we commonly see, which only goes to show how much they are loved.
