The origin of the shape goes back to the founder\u2019s deep respect for Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine.<\/a>
On the shrine\u2019s main hall hangs a plaque with the character for \u201cHachi\u201d (\u516b, meaning eight), stylized from two pigeons facing each other.
According to history, when the Hachimangu Shrine was relocated to various places across Japan, pigeons were said to guide the way.
This led to the tradition of associating the \u201ceight\u201d character with pigeons\u2014an image so beloved that it inspired the creation of Hato Sabl\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n
